GeekCast 42: Death of the A-List Bloggers

Posted by admin On October - 30 - 2008

Episode 42 of the GeekCast show was 25% smaller, as Sam Harrelson couldn’t make it to geek out with Jim Kukral, Lisa Picarille, and Ronald Bell.

Lots of stuff jammed into the little package, including Jim’s triumphant return to Twitter, voting technology (chill out political haters - it’s about technology, not politics), iPhone vs. iPod Touch, Gmail and Google Calendar, Network Solutions running a conference online, and the last gasps of the A-list bloggers.

Competitive Site Analysis

Posted by admin On October - 28 - 2008

There is a new site called ReviewMyWeb that provides a free service that analyzes your sites against a couple competitors on Google, Yahoo, blogs, and other key areas.

ReviewMyWeb is similar to the comparison tools at Alexa or compete, but ReviewMyWeb takes it further by also including data on SEO, social media, etc.

I ran a sample report of two New Jersey wine stores: Gary Vaynerchuk’s Wine Library and a store from some other guy named Gary that is also advertising his site on billboards in the Garden State.

Check it out at http://www.reviewmyweb.com/.
